[Zara dress and Zara tights, Blanket by Uhaul (I wish I were kidding)]
You've stolen our hearts. I'm not sure which of us you adore most but I have a sneaking suspicion it's Max. He lights up your face and captures your gaze like no one else. At least twice a day I catch the two of you, eyes locked, laughing and having a secret conversation in baby. Two days ago you began saying mama. The baby books say it's just babble talk but between us girls, I think you know what it means. Or at least you know it gets me all excited so you like to say it when I'm around.
You are so determined to get anything and everything in your grasp and into your mouth and you flash us the biggest eyes if that something happens to be tasty like a bit of banana or apple. You are definitely more curious than your big brother was at your age about food but we haven't officially started you on solids yet. Just a little exploration here and there.
You are very agile when it comes to rolling over and pushing up, or swinging your head around when you hear your name. Sometimes we call you Alexandria, sometimes baby sister, and often "Alzingla" as big bro has named you.
My favorite moment of the day is when you fall asleep in a milk coma, eyes barely closed, arms stretched over your head, with those pudgy hands caressing your velvety wash of blonde hair. Your big grey eyes are now streaked with cinnamon brown and they talk to me all day long. Is that thing/noise/person okay mama? Thank you. and I love you.
This time last year a trip to the doctor left us questioning if we'd get to meet you and hold you. And here you are today spending each day strapped to me in the baby bjorn and each night by my side. I can't believe you're here. I can't believe you're ours. God I love you. There's just no other way to say it.
